Welcome, skygazer! Grand Strand Skygazers was a Myrtle Beach, South Carolina-based not-for-profit group of amateurs interested in sharing knowledge and experiences, viewing planets, the stars and beyond. Our membership was open to students, parents, beginners, backyard amateurs and also experienced professionals.
Grand Strand Skygazers officially disbanded on June 3, 2007. This site is being kept in place as an informational site only. If you are looking for a dark site around Myrtle Beach, try Huntingdon Beach State Park, which is south of Myrtle Beach. If you are looking to buy equipment, there is no place in Myrtle Beach to do so. If you are looking for astronomy classes, try Coastal Carolina University. If you are looking for a club, try Wilmington, NC or Charleston, SC, or Columbia, SC. Google will help you get answers to astronomy questions. Thank you.
Looking for quick info on what the sky will be like tonight? To the right, you see the Lunar Phase. You can also view our area's sky clock, which gives detailed information on cloud cover, atmospheric transparency and more. The solar imager has useful data too.
If all of the headlines to the right don't give you your fill of news, you can visit our news page for even more stories.
